This is part 2 following our previous post of Gene & Lizzy’s father-daughter family photography at Gunston Hall in Lorton, Northern Virginia.
During our pre-portrait consultation, we talked about home decor, and Gene mentioned that he definitely wanted a wall portrait to fill some of the blank wall space of his home. After our family photo session, he sent me room photos of his fireplace mantle and home office, and I played with a few different wall portrait configurations before Gene & Lizzy came over. Then, during their “photo reveal,” together, we looked at different print media – metal prints and canvas gallery wraps were Gene’s two favorites – and also explored more wall portrait configurations. In the end, Gene decided to focus on his home office, since he spends more time there than by the fireplace, and together, we came up with the perfect love grouping: a series of six canvas gallery wraps to hang above his desk – absolutely gorgeous!!!
Here are some of the other configurations that we explored before deciding on the 6-pc wall portrait grouping above.
A family portrait is only as good as the final display.
