Creating Empowering Young Teen Photography
Uniquely Beautiful
As Lauren headed into 9th grade, her mom was in search of teenage photoshoot ideas that could capture the beautiful and incredible woman her daughter was blossoming into. From the moment she landed on our 'Confident Girls, Empowered Women' project, she fell in love with the concept and wanted Lauren to join the movement.
When our portrait photographer looks through her camera lens, she doesn't just see pretty, she also sees resilience. She sees grace and strength, spunk and confidence, and that's the message that we want all teen and tween girls to leave our photography studio with.
We want to celebrate that true beauty comes from being and loving yourself exactly as you are.
Born to Stand Out
It's Lauren's unique point of view, her personality, and goals in life that make her a force to be reckoned with. She also loves both being outdoors playing tennis and staying in with her favorite books and video games.
As part of this project, one of Lauren's goals for her young teen photography session was to celebrate herself and disrupt the unfortunate norms that social media is creating around what true beauty is. During her in-person consult, we were able to generate some amazing teen photoshoot ideas around how she wanted to be seen.
Fierce and Fearless
Lauren absolutely rocked her photoshoot (as did her mom in the part of the session she joined Lauren in)! Not only does she look stunning, but she will forever have this moment to look back at and remember how fierce and fearless she truly is.

Irene (Portrait Photographer):
What’s the best thing about being the age you’re at?
Lauren:
The best thing about being my age is that you can finally start taking part in activities or things many teenagers do.
Irene (Teen Photographer):
What’s the hardest thing about being the age you’re at? Do you think this will have changed by the time you’ve become an adult?
Lauren:
The hardest part about being my age is adjusting to the new workload that you are given (school or activities).

Irene (Teen Photographer):
What do you think your future job will be?
Lauren:
I can't honestly say what job I will have in the future, but it will probably be in the sciences or business fields.

I think I could teach people how to work their electronics, and how to bake many delicious deserts.
Irene (Teen Photographer):
Why did you decide to participate in the "Confident Girls, Empowered Women" Project?

Irene (Portrait Photographer):
How did it feel to be photographed? Did you have fun?
