Have five years already flown by? It seems like just yesterday that I huddled under a bridge in Alexandria, VA, rain pouring all around us as I captured the wedding vows during the elopement of Madison's mom, Tiffany, and her fiancé. I remember Madison, 12-years old at the time, as a sweet, pretty girl, happy to be part of this joyful union. Her curly red-orange hair complemented the dusty blue of her lace dress, and the smile on her face was genuine.
How did time pass so quickly? Could it be that today, Madison was a senior in high school, about to set off on her own to make her mark on the world? I was so pleased to hear from Tiffany about Madison's senior portraits, and I suggested that with Madison going off to college, that they also include family portraits as part of Madison's senior portrait photography session.
Senior portraits are such a special way to capture a momentous time in a child's life, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. These portraits serve as a tangible reminder of who they were during their final year of high school, and Madison's senior portraits will be treasured for years to come.
For Madison specifically, these senior portraits hold even more value, as a lasting memory of her youth and transition to adulthood. Plus, what better way to document her unique personality and style at this unique moment in time? And, in addition to being personal keepsakes, senior portraits have a bonus practical use in college applications, professional networking sites, and even job and internship interviews.
Then, including family portraits in the senior portrait session adds further sentimental value to the photography. Madison's family is important to her, and capturing these relationships in both digital and tangible artwork celebrates their bond and creates lasting memories not just for Madison, but also for her mom and dad and brothers. Plus, family portraits are a way to celebrate Madison's accomplishments as a team effort!
Enjoy this selection of some of my favorite images from Madison's senior portrait & family photography session in Alexandria, VA. Then, check back later for photos of the 6-piece family photography wall art grouping that I hung on their wall, plus photos of Madison's finished senior portrait album!
