It was the beginning of March, and the weather was still cool. Kat had just finished up a recruitment event for work and was looking forward to a professional portrait photography session with her boyfriend, Phil, that he had arranged. We met up at Stanton Park on Washington DC’s Capitol Hill. They were a fun-loving couple and as I photographed them, I laughed at the theatrical expressions Phil would make as he took Kat in his arms. He led her in a dance down the walkway of Stanton Park, and Kat threw back her head and smiled and laughed. Phil stood against the statue at the park’s center court and looked down at his watch, as Kat snuck around behind him, then jumped up into his arms! They weaved and waved on the playground’s rocking horses. 45 minutes into their DC portrait photography session, it was time to get serious. They brought out a suitcase stuffed with red lobster costumes. And after putting on their red lobster caps, red boas, and Kat’s little red mini-skirt, Phil said…wait, I have another accessory for you. He bent down on one knee, drew out the engagement ring, and said four small but very important words…will you marry me?
Congratulations to this newly engaged couple! Phil & Kat… it meant a lot to us to be the ones to photograph your wedding proposal and this special day in your lives… may your sweet pair be always happy and in the bliss of love!
Planning to propose?
Remember the moment forever with fun & artistic engagement photography.
