"I really like your pictures," Pratty said,"especially the environmental business headshots... I love those. I've been thinking about getting new headshots done for a year now, and then I recently got promoted and will be starting my new job at the end of the month, and they asked if I wanted to change my headshot."
"The last time I hired a professional photographer," she continued, "was for engagement & wedding photography. The pictures turned out well, but at the same time, it could have gone much better. It was rushed, and it seemed more like a business. I didn't know how to pose or what to do, and the photographer didn't give any guidance."
Well, one thing I believe as a professional headshot photographer is to never leave my clients to their own devices, as far as posing goes! After all, they're not models (except for when I do modeling photography), nor do they have a mirror in front of them. It's up to me to be their mirror, and to analyze their face and body to figure out the most flattering lighting and posing and camera angles, and to guide them into those poses!
And so, we met up with Pratty for her professional headshots at Park Potomac in Potomac, MD, a little residential and commercial community tucked away in suburban Maryland. Check out some of my favorites from Pratty's Potomac professional headshot photography session!
Got promoted? Starting a new job? Celebrate and start off on the right foot with a makeover and a new set of professional headshots!
