Andree & Joe had found out about us through the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation’s Fashion for Fighters Gala, which raises funds for ill and injured U.S. Navy and Coast Guardsmen and their families. Joe is retiring from the Navy soon after 10 years in the Service, and he and his wife, Andree, thought a couple’s portrait photography session would be a great way to celebrate and memorialize those meaningful years. The original thought was to do their couple’s portraits around the DC monuments, but since they had had wedding portraits around the monuments already years ago, in the end, we decided on Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, with the waterfront a fitting complement to Joe’s Navy service. The day of our couple’s session, Joe wore his most formal Navy uniform, replete with medals and honors. We were rewarded with beautiful weather, and better yet, the best sunset I’ve experienced during a portrait session in Old Town Alexandria. Partway through the session, Andree & Joe donned sports jerseys with their wedding date on the backs, but my favorites are still their beautiful sunset portraits on the waterfront! Enjoy!
