Joel had googled dating app photographers in Maryland, and we were the first dating photographer to come up, he had told me. At the time, he had six dating photos on Bumble - a headshot from work, 4 shots with friends, and 1 photo of just him. He'd been on Bumble for two weeks and was getting a reasonable number of contacts, however, there had been some occasions where the conversation just dropped, and he thought he should really put his best foot forward by getting professional dating profile pictures done.
One of the things he really wanted to bring out in his dating app photos was that he works really hard to stay fit for his age. His two loves in life are fly fishing and beach volleyball, which he plays in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. I've always loved capturing the active side of our dating photography clients. I believe it's so important to feature hobbies, interests, whatever things you're passionate about in your dating profile because: (a) it'll attract like-minded people who share your interests and passions; or (b) it'll attract people who are attracted to that side of you and even if it's not an activity they enjoy, they'll appreciate YOU going out and engaging, even if it means spending time without them at your side. After all, the last thing you want is to have to change who you are in order to fall in love, right?!
Anyway, Joel was happy to take a drive from Baltimore out our way, and Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, MD had both a volleyball net and scenery for fly fishing. Check out some of my favorite selects from Joel's dating app photography session below!
