We met in Salamanca, Spain during our study abroad program while attending St. John’s University in Queens, NY. It wasn’t quite love at first sight but we made a real connection once we got to know each other. Our journey has taken us from Salamanca, to Marrakesh, Rome, Venice, Florence, Pompeii, Paris, Amsterdam, and back to the states in which we spent a year apart while Erika finished her undergraduate studies. Our journey to our wedding day has been a roller coaster ride filled with smiles, laughter, crying, scary moments, but most of all wonderful loving memories which didn’t conclude on our wedding day but began a whole other chapter of adventures. — Juan
Juan & Erika celebrated their union in a reverent church ceremony at Mother Seton Parish in Germantown, Maryland and a beautiful summer wedding reception at Clarksburg’s Milton Ridge. With Juan growing up in Montgomery County and working as a Legislative Senior Aide for the Montgomery County Council, and with Erika now a school counselor for Montgomery County Public Schools, it was only fitting that they would spend this special day here as well. Congratulations to this happy couple! Enjoy their wedding photography gallery below! And you can still check out their Aspen Dale Winery engagement portraits here.
And many thanks to Juan for writing this awesome 5-star wedding photographer review of our wedding photography services on WeddingWire!
This getting ready wedding picture of Erika sticking out her hands pretending to be Superwoman is super-cute!
I love the expressions on their faces below! So adorable!!!
The placing of the “lasso” (or cord) is a Latino wedding tradition that I’ve photographed several times as a wedding photographer. The “lasso” is placed around the bride & groom in a figure-eight shape. It’s made out of white satin or silk to represent a loop of rosary beads. The lasso symbolizes lifetime unity and marital protection, while the figure-eight loops represent the couple’s love for each other. Sweet – I love multi-cultural wedding traditions!
Of course we needed some wedding photos by the Rolls Royce!
Juan’s best man was his twin brother. Good thing for their wedding photographer that their outfits were different!
Erika’s maid of honor was hilarious… she brought an enormously long printout for her toast that got everyone laughing!
