We were heading back to the B.’s beautiful new house in one of the Leesburg golf communities in Northern Virginia after our family photography session, and one of the three-year-old B. twins wasn’t done twirling on the golf greens. “I … Need … My … Sister!” called Pippy, turning around to look back at the dancing Gabby, as we walked up the hill to the street. Her call to her twin sister just tugged at my heartstrings. It’s months later now, and I can still hear her in my mind. I don’t have a twin, but I can imagine how pretty darn awesome it could be.
I had first gotten to know the B. family two years earlier when I photographed the twins’ first birthday party. I’d seen them again a few months before this family photography session when we photographed their third birthday party. This was our first family photography session. The B’s had been in their new house in Leesburg for just about a year, and Mrs. B. was super excited to get some family portraits to hang on their still-bare walls. She had dressed the twins in happy colors that would serve as accents to the color theme of their family room. In the end, a large 30×40 canvas wall portrait would rest on the fireplace mantle, a 6-piece canvas love grouping would adorn the wall behind one of the sofas, and a 3-pc standout love grouping in black & white would welcome visitors as they stepped into the foyer. We’ll be posting some photos of their wall portraits soon; in the meantime, enjoy some of my favorite images from their family photography session!
