It was to be a non-traditional wedding… a big party without the typical bride & groom dances, without toasts or a cake-cutting or even flowers. And yet, it was special and meaningful and memorable in every way possible.
Rachel plans meeting and events for her job and has worked with many professional photographers. On our first phone call and then at our first meeting, she said:
“I love pictures, and I always want to take pictures at events. I scrapbook, and photos are really important to me. I’m unwilling to compromise on my wedding photography. But at the same time, I don’t want my wedding photographer to be ‘in my face’. I don’t want paparazzi; I prefer my wedding photographer to be working behind the scenes while still capturing all the memories… a wedding photographer who makes people feel comfortable and makes them want to be photographed… a wedding photographer who doesn’t keep stopping people to catch staged photos as opposed to candids.”
Jeff & Rachel’s first booked wedding venue in Frederick, Maryland canceled on them 5 1/2 months before the wedding. Yet, it seems like fate as that cancellation led them to Big Cork Vineyards in Rohrersville, Maryland. Rustic yet modern at the same time, Big Cork isn’t like any other winery I’ve seen. Big Cork’s “Big House,” an impeccably-decorated and spacious mansion separate from the winery buildings, was available for Jeff & Rachel and their four bridesmaids and six groomsmen to get ready in. And while Jeff & Rachel’s wedding day brought beautiful weather, I almost wished for rain because Big Cork had the most amazing backup venue for the ceremony – their very cool-looking Production Room. This was Big Cork’s first wedding, and they did a fantastic job! Enjoy a peek into Rachel & Jeff’s professional wedding photography below!
And many thanks to Rachel for this online review on WeddingWire of our professional wedding photography services:
“Irene was a pleasure to work with for our wedding. Her pre-planning work and attention to detail was great. I very much appreciated the worksheet we had to complete prior to the wedding. I felt very confident leading up to our wedding that everything would go smoothly on the day of the event. And it did! We took our formal pictures prior to the ceremony which I highly recommend. It allowed us to simply enjoy ourselves during the wedding. Irene stuck to the timeline throughout the evening. We received the deliverables prior to the deadline dates set forth in the contract. We love the pictures we received and were very excited to share them with our friends and family.”
Engaged and unwilling to compromise on professional wedding photography for your special day?
It’s often in the little details that the labor of love shines through, from the unique groom’s side boutonnieres featuring a different beer bottle cap on each (upper left, above) to the bridesmaid gift bag saying “be happy” (lower right, above).
Above, Rachel jumps into the tub for a wedding photo with her girls!
I love the expression on Rachel’s face as she and Jeff see each other for the first time on the wedding day during their pre-ceremony “first look.”
Jeff had warned me that his friends are goofy, crazy and wild!
While we had beautiful weather, and the ceremony took place outdoors, I couldn’t give up the opportunity for some bride & groom wedding photos in the very awesome Production Room!
Rachel re-enacted their engagement day in the series of wedding photos above when she jumped onto Jeff’s back before realizing that he wanted her to be serious so he could propose!
What could be more perfect than a handful of popcorn to munch on while watching the romantic “movie” that is their ceremony?!
