“I am looking to update our family portraits and be able to display them in our family room as well as send out holiday pictures to family and friends.”
That’s the note from little Noah’s mom that popped into our inbox one early fall day. When we spoke on the phone, Noah’s mom told me about their past experiences with family portrait photographers on the West Coast. Noah had already had a few family portrait sessions, both indoors and out, and they had really liked the natural feel of the outdoor session, and so that is what we planned for. By the time we met in person for their planning meeting, the weather had turned cold, and I worried that an outdoor family portrait session would be too much for the little 1-year old. But Noah’s mom assured me that he does fine in the cold and that they had just taken him on an overnight camping trip! (I was impressed!) And so just six days later, we met up at Manassas National Battlefield Park in Northern Virginia, and little Noah had a blast playing in the leaves and pretty much running around everywhere we might not want him to run! At their “photo reveal,” Noah’s mom and dad chose six family portraits for us to print and frame, in addition to some small prints to give as gifts to family members. Everything, especially the large family portraits, came out so beautifully! I’ll be sure to do another blog post soon with some pictures of the framed portraits. Plus, you can take a peek at their holiday cards here.
It’s time to get your Valentine’s Day gifts in order: a family portrait session would make a beautiful gift for your wife, because what mom wouldn’t want family portraits to hang on her walls and make her smile day after day after day?
