"Let today be the start of something new!"
A Fresh Start
Being new to the online dating world, Gabriella wasn't really sure where to start with her dating profile pictures so her friend suggested reaching out to a professional online dating photographer.
Online Dating Profile Photography?
According to a study by sociologists Michael Rosenfeld and Sonia Hausen of Stanford University and Reuben Thomas of University of New Mexico, 39% of heterosexual couples and more than 60% of same-sex couples met online in 2017! Throw COVID into that mix, and I'm sure that number has rocketed since then. We understand that sometimes entering the digital dating space might be a little intimidating, so we've put together a few tips below to help your online dating profile stand out!
The Online Single Life
- The Friend Test
Sometimes, we can be our worst critic. So take a step back and get some feedback from friends. Look for a close friend who you trust to be honest with you about your profile and your dating profile pictures, and who has your best interests at heart. And then, when selecting your professional online dating photographer, ask for their feedback as well, since they will be experts!
- Which One are You Again?
There might be some back and forth on whether to post group photos as part of your dating profile pictures, but we say it's better to leave them out. There are a few times when you can make things just about you, and this is one of them!
- Variety is the Spice of Life
Use as many dating profile pictures as you are allowed to, and make sure they reflect who YOU are. As Gabriella is a nature lover, she opted for beautiful dating portraits at Lake Needwood in Derwood, MD.
